Movie~Full: “Avatar” Leaves Disney+ For Cinema Release
“Avatar” Leaves Disney+ For Cinema Release : With a library of Marvel films , Disney animated classics, and the Star Wars franchise, Disney+ has the largest blockbuster catalog on any streaming platform . But recently, customers have seen one of the biggest films missing. It was James Cameron's film Avatar, which went out of service without any prior announcement.
Disney+ subscribers were shocked to see that one of James Cameron's big titles, Avatar, was suddenly removed from the streaming service.
Sources confirmed the removal and linked it to an upcoming theatrical re-release of the 2009 sci-fi epic.
The intended theatrical re-release falls on September 23, 2022 and has a two-week limited run. It will come in a new 4K high resolution restoration. The goal is to promote the sequel to the long-awaited film, Avatar: The Way of Water.
This step feels right considering the sequel, which will be released in December, is a continuation of Avatar 13 years ago. Most of us can barely remember what happened with the film last week, let alone with a film more than a decade away.
While the news is troubling for fans eager to watch Avatar from home, the film's absence will not be long. Sources confirm that the film will return to Disney+ at an unspecified time. At least that's before December 16, 2022, which is the theatrical release schedule for Avatar: The Way of Water.
However, the film is still available through rental services, including YouTube, Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.
